Newsletter #1

Issue 1 – July 2017

What’s New
We are introducing the newsletter to keep our learners and potential learners informed of updates. It will be sent out at the end of the month and give you updates about what we are up to, as well as announcing the well received “Learner of The Month”.
Lots of exciting new developments coming up. We have launched Moodle, as a replacement for Grovo. This offers many benefits, some of which we are still discovering, it is that exciting! We can showcase our courses better and as a learner you can see the whole course, rather than just one module at a time. New students will be on that platform from July with the current learners gradually swapping over the next couple of months. Keep your eyes peeled for more information on this in separate emails.
As part of our marketing campaigns we are also looking at partnering up with an independent review site, such as Trust Pilot or Feefo. So once it is up and running, we will be asking for your help to tell the world how good we are (providing you think that of course). We hope to have your support in this to spread the word.
We have also been talking with the Institute of Engineering & Technology (IET) about getting approved and offering memberships to our learners as part of the course. The apprenticeship scheme we are running with Telent is currently under assessment. More news on that as it develops.
Welcome new staff:
We would like to welcome a new member of the team, Julian Harding. He is currently the Technical Director at Guthrie Douglas and is working with us as an associate. He has many years of experience teaching Engineering Drawing and CAD as well as other Engineering topics.
Students of the Month

Winners of 2 cinema tickets goes to:

Engineering: Tim Simpson for the diligence and quality of his work during this month on whilst working on U009. Tim always makes every effort to complete his work within the timescale and always goes over and beyond the requirements of each task to make sure that the evidence that he submits is first class.

IT/Computing: Jarryd Fuchs’ work continues to be of great quality, rarely needing any alteration and when it does he is always quick to update and resubmit.  He shows a good eye for detail and is about to start his final assessment.

Telecoms Apprentice: Tom Pither has stepped up his level of work over the last few weeks, he’s been proactive in contacting his tutor for advice and is quick to respond to his feedback.  His work has been well laid out, detailed and easy to understand. He has achieved good progress over the last month and his progress is continuing this month, he is very nearly back on target after putting in some effort to catch-up.

Emails will be sent separately on how to claim these tickets, congratulations!
