What is an HNC?
The Edexcel BTEC Level 4 HNC Diploma in Computing and Systems Development (QCF) is a qualification with a minimum of 120 credits of which 45 credits are mandatory core. The Edexcel BTEC Level 4 HNC Diploma programme must contain a minimum of 65 credits at level 4.The HNC is designed to give you a higher level of knowledge which could allow you to step up the career ladder or count towards a full degree.,
What does the course consist of?

This is a fully flexible course, tailored to your needs. There are mandatory units that you must complete, with the option of using vendor qualifications to count as some of the credit.

Who is the Course aimed at?

This course is for those who would like CPD credits, or start a Higher Education. It can lead to an HND, in fact the HNC is nestled inside an HND (240 Cr). It could also count towards a full Bachelors degree as more and more Universities accept HNC’s as the 1st year.

What are the entry requirements?

A level 3 qualification, such as BTEC Diploma in IT or A levels, however if you don’t have these but do have experience in the workplace, then contact us and we can discuss your needs. Typically 80 UCAS points is needed.

Non-native English speakers and those students who have not had their final two years of schooling in English will need to demonstrate one of the following upon entry:

  • Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) B2
  • IELTS 5.5 (including 5.5 for reading and writing)
  • PTE 51
  • or equivalent,

As this is level 4, once complete you may be eligible for Professional Recognition with institutes such as the Institute of Engineering & Technology

This is a complete course, but can be continued with the HND Diploma, or jump straight in to a full degree course on the 2nd year.
