The HNC Diploma Electrical and Electronic Engineering awards aim to provide the following:

  • to provide an educational foundation for a range of careers in the engineering sector;
  • to enable students to make a contribution when employed in the engineering sector;
  • to provide flexibility, knowledge, skills and motivation as a basis for career development and as a basis for progression to graduate and postgraduate studies;
  • to develop a range of transferable skills and techniques, personal qualities and attitudes essential for successful performance in working life;
  • to provide flexibility within the programme that enables learners to specialise in the mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or manufacturing engineering sector,
  • to equip students for progression from HNC to HND; and
  • to provide opportunities to develop, encourage and enhance students’ motivation for mechanical engineering ,electrical engineering or manufacturing engineering so that they are enabled to operate at a higher technician or associate professional level and to make an immediate contribution to their chosen area of employment.
