Engineering Technician


As a training provider, SemesterLD is now able to offer apprenticeships. The Engineering Technician Apprenticeship is the staple of any business that requires engineering maintenance. Your company could be any of the following:


  • Offshore – such as Oil & Gas, Wind Turbines
  • Machinery servicing – such as fork lift trucks, cranes, plant
  • Distribution – such as warehousing servicing automated lines, conveyor belts
  • Aerospace – aircraft servicing & repair
  • Energy – Onshore wind turbines, Gas turbines maintenance
  • Theme Parks – maintaining rides and services



The engineering Technician is a versatile role and could involve learning about and dealing with mechanical problems involving gears, rollers, couplings, engines, generators, hydraulics, PLC’s plus many more.

Engineering Technician Apprenticeship – Training


We have a wide range of suitable courses that will fit into the Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours of this standard, for instance:

  • Level 2 Foundation Competence qualification – BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering
  • Level 3 Development Competence qualification -Pearson BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Mechatronics Technician) orBTEC NVQ Engineering Maintenance – Mechanical/Electrical/Services (until Dec 2020)
  • Level 3 Development Technical Knowledge qualification – BTEC Level 3 Award/Certificate/Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering or BTEC National Diploma In Engineering (Until Dec 2020)
