What is the Level 3 BTEC Diploma Motorsport Engineering?
The Level 3 Diploma in Motorsport Engineering is a staple in terms of knowledge. It is broadly equivalent to 2 A’ Levels and the old QCF BTEC National Diploma.
The Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Motorsport) has been designed to meet the requirements of the Foundation phase of many of the Trailblazer standards in Engineering, including the Vehicle Maintenance Technician. It is for learners, providers and employers who wish to complete more knowledge units in order to progress to an Extended Diploma in the Development Phase. It enables learners to complete additional optional units to allow for greater specialism in their chosen areas.
In addition this BTEC Diploma Motorsport Engineering pathway leads to a seperate certification with those words in the title, as opposed to without which is General or there is Mechanical.
UCAS
The BTEC Diploma Motorsport Engineering is set at level 3 and therefore has an equivalency to A’ Levels. To that end it also acquires UCAS points based on the grade achieved which can be used to gain entry to University.
